The Sun Fast 30 One Design is the culmination of a project initiated by three prestigious offshore racing clubs. The One Design Class is set to become a benchmark for offshore sailing, with an ambitious program of international races.

The project to design an offshore-oriented 30-foot one-design yacht was conceived by UNCL, the racing arm of the Yacht Club de France, the Royal Ocean Racing Club (UK) and the Storm Trysail Club (US), with the main aims of encouraging this discipline, making sailing more accessible and training the next generation.

It’s the association between VPLP Design and Multiplast who wins the "Class 30: Building the Future" international design competition.

Sustainability

1st production sailboat in thermoplastic resin, making it recyclable at the end of its life

Use of recycled materials (resin, sandwich foam, keel)

Strong decisions on sails in particular (i.e. restriction of materials...)

Sobriety and accessibility in the DNA of the Class since the beginning

One-design: a guarantee of longer-lasting use

Elium® resin: recycled and recyclable

The hull (solid laminate) and deck (sandwich) of the Sun Fast 30 One Design are constructed according to the vacuum infusion moulding method with Elium® thermoplastic resin, developed by Arkema.

This resin demonstrates superior mechanical performance to that of thermosetting polyester resin, with the unique and revolutionary additional property of being recyclable.

Constructed with 20% recycled resin itself, Elium® resin enables the construction of fully recyclable boats.

With the Sun Fast 30 One Design, Jeanneau takes its furthest step ever into environmentally responsible development and the circular economy, launching the first recyclable production model boat.

A sizable innovation!

History of the C30 Class

A yacht of remarkable performance, the Sun Fast 30 One Design is nonetheless a boat that respects the environment. It is the first production yacht to be built in recyclable composite.

By integrating sail durability criteria into the Class rules, and carefully selected equipment designed for intensive offshore use, the Sun Fast 30 One Design marks a major step towards sustainable yachting.

The result of a fruitful collaboration with major players in the yachting world - architects VPLP Design, Multiplast and Jeanneau - the Sun Fast 30 One Design is an innovative, powerful and versatile 30-foot yacht that aims to make ocean racing more accessible, more fun and more sustainable.

This 30-foot one-design is specifically designed for multi-day ocean racing between amateurs and enthusiasts of all generations.

The aim is to encourage the younger generation to take up ocean racing. With this in mind, the Sun Fast 30 One Design benefits from the latest advances in infusion construction, guaranteeing strength and rigidity for limited weight. The slightly rounded bow, inspired by the "scow" design, promises sensations and power at all speeds.
